Elisa Agami has held many individual and collective exhibitions around the world
Born in Mexico City in 1955. From a very young age, Elisa Agami showed keen sensibility towards the arts. She enrolled at the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes (National Institute of Fine Arts) where she studied jewelry, copper enameling and sculpture. Later in Dallas, Texas, she studied drawing at Brookhaven College, and sculpture both at Richland College and at the George Davis Studio.
On returning to Mexico she attended various seminars in sculpture, ceramics, drawing, and in painting technique with Luis Nishizawa. In 1998, fulfilling a lifelong aspiration, she traveled to Firenze, Italy, to study academic drawing and painting in the atelier of Charles Cecil.
Elisa Agami has held many individual and collective exhibitions, both in Mexico and abroad. Outstanding among these in Mexico are Coyoacan Cultural Center; Carmelita Ex-Convent in Desierto de los Leones; Casa de la Cultura Tlalpan; National Museum of Anthropology and History; Campo Militar del Estado Mayor Presidencial; Civil Engineer’s College. She has exhibited abroad in Israel (Armon Gallery in Zichron Yaakov; International Convention Center in Jerusalem; Tzafon Gallery in Haifa, and others); at the Metzke Museum in Bratislava, Republic of Slovakia; at Tristann’s Gallery in Dundalk, Ireland; and in various galleries in the U.S. including California, Dallas and New York.
